Day 9 & 10: Ice Cream and a Casino

One of my favorite places to go when I was a kid was Friendly's. They had the best ice cream sundaes and tuna melts! My favorite was the conehead sundae, but I couldn't find it on the menu. Sad. Well, not TOO sad. I had some super-yum chocolate ice cream and mint chocolate chip ice cream!

Cakes and ice cream!

Shirt: Vintage NKOTB concert tee.

Skort: F21. To be honest, though, the quality is low and the zipper split during its second wear. Pretty embarrassing.

Shoes: GC Shoes. Similar ones on Ebay here and here. VERY similar YSL version for about what you'd expect to pay for YSL. Kate Spade version with a red toe cap here.

Bag. Michael Kors.

After lunch, we went to Patriot Place to check out the shops and be near the stadium of one of my favorite football teams.

One of the helmets from a New England Patriot game. Look at those gashes!
After buying a few necklaces and things at Charming Charlie (more on that later), we drove south to Connecticut and Foxwoods casino! My good friend/family member got us a room for a couple of nights, and we were glad for a couple nights by ourselves, since we'd been staying with my great aunt and uncle for the last week.

It's nestled in the woods, like a palace almost, but one deeply in debt. The place is enormous.

The view from our floor in the hotel.

The ceiling of the main lobby, look up at the hotel rooms.

There was a shop selling these ridiculous hats. Of course there was another one that says "COCK".

Willy Wonka slot machines!
They have ALL kinds of slot machines there, including TWO with my name on them.

Here's one of them!

Awwwww, yiss.

The hotel room had an amazing bathroom; the mirrors were surrounded by light and there was a stool and place to put on make up. Divine.

A girl could get used to this.

For my first night traipsing around the casino, I decided to go all black. One of the things I bought at South of the Border was an oversized one-size-fits-all black tee for $.99. While I was in Oxford, I tried my hand at the DIY crop top. I cut the arm holes to shorten them and then tied them together. I like the way it turned out.

The green bag is from Charming Charlie; a gift from the boyfriend.

The pizza was pretty dope.

Shirt: Self-made from a black tee. If you'd rather just buy yours, I found similar styles here and for $9 here.

Skirt. Asos. Here's a quilted option for cheap at boohoo, a pleated version at GoJane, and if you're feeling rich, there's a really sweet leather version by The Row.

Shoes: F21. I just bought a new pair of these from Ebay in a wide size. The shoes I'm wearing here have started squeaking at the heel, which makes me nervous. Similar style here.

Accessories: Necklaces from Charming Charlie (Sagittarius Constellation Necklace , Fish Necklace)and BaubleBar (similar here).

The next called for more galavanting and free drinks on the casino floor (well, plus a tip for the servers), and that apparently called for more black. I love how versatile this Dex dress is, and it's so comfortable and has pockets!

One of the things I found at Charming Charlie and just HAD to have, was this rhinestone venetian mask. It's just so crazy and beautiful. Unfortunately, I wasn't allowed to wear the mask on my face, so I had to use it as a headband, which I rather liked.

Here I am pulling a huge lever for the Mega Million slot. There's a huge screen in front of me.

I won a rolling cooler! It was all so hokey, but fun. And it's a nice cooler.

Dress: Dex. Similar here, here, and here

Shoes: Bamboo. Similar here, Frye version here.

Accessories: F21 Necklace (Similar here). Maurices Headband (Similar here). Charming Charlie Mask.

Stay tuned for the last leg of our trip, to New York!
